Our Mission

The Communications, Marketing & Media Relations Office (CMMO) manages the public awareness efforts of the association, delivering key messages to external audiences about the value of libraries and library professionals. CMMO also communicates ¹Ü¼ÒÆŲÊͼ's key messages through and crisis communications, and offers public relations counsel and editorial services. Tools are also developed and shared with librarians to help advance ¹Ü¼ÒÆŲÊͼ’s strategic directions.

Each year the ¹Ü¼ÒÆŲÊͼ (¹Ü¼ÒÆŲÊͼ) honors books, videos, and other outstanding materials for children and teens

¹Ü¼ÒÆŲÊͼ

The I Love My Librarian Award invites library users to recognize the accomplishments of exceptional public, school, college, community college, or university librarians.

¹Ü¼ÒÆŲÊͼ

It's an annual time dedicated to celebrating our nation's libraries and library workers' contributions while promoting library use and support.

¹Ü¼ÒÆŲÊͼ

The campaign started in 1987 as a response to then Secretary of Education William Bennett, who stated, “Let’s have a campaign … Every child should obtain a library card and use it.”
